Kossman Development Company has just completed Omega Corporate Center which utilized the curtain wall system designed by Dr. Ray Ting of Advanced Building Systems. Omega Corporate Center, located in the greater Pittsburgh area, is a premier office building containing 282,000 sq.ft. of rentable floor area and approximately 80,000 sq.ft. of curtain wall (Ting wall).

In the course of designing (Paul Kossman, R.A.) Omega Corporate Center, a number of qualifications were used to determine the most suitable curtain wall for this project. Maximum quality, cost effectiveness, durability and long-term waterproofness were the major criteria in selecting Ting wall. We found the engineering principles utilized in the Ting wall design, in conjunction with the cost effectiveness, to be major factors in selecting this curtain wall system.

In the course of designing and constructing this building, Dr. Ting has maintained the highest professional standards, including full scale mock-ups, complete engineering design and construction supervision of the subcontractors with little, if any, problems. We currently have construction documents for a second building (Omega Corporate Center II) and a third building (Omega Corporate Center III) in the design stage. Based on our experience to date, we have effectively been able to utilize the Ting wall system and our current plans are to utilize this system on our future buildings within this development.

To date there have been no problems of note with the curtain wall, and we firmly believe that this system will maximize the life cycle of our building.
